LoNER [MIXTAPE]

LoNER  the state of being Louis-NER is a short prose from Louis' journal about his social status and his self image. It's a 40 minute story about a performer who confronts and accommodates the antagonist (his subconscious mind), which he refers to as Eighty Thousand Pests at the intro and other songs in the project. Through journaling, he introduces the subject matter of beliefs and how they are motivated by emotions and self perception and social environment, what he calls sermons in Somethin' bout the God Stuff.

Mentality presents the uncertainty and clustered thoughts, introducing listeners to the complexity of his inner world. He finally unravels the strings and fingers puppeteering his complex emotions and lingering fears towards the world in Blame Game and finds tranquillity in Liminal Space where he's free from guilt or fear of being inadequate. At the end of the story, he inclines to his alter ego, the eighty thousand pests, and accepts fabric of himself in the end credits as actors in one big show called life with a new goals and perspectives.

This project capitalises on repetitive vocals and low clarity to portray the nature of overthinkers. LoNER is a literal depiction of how every individual on this planet are the only ones who have access to their own heads, regardless of family or friends. The artist says himself that "even for my fans, I knows it's not for everybody" because of the way this project was tailored- to suit the narrative of living in your own head.

Relation to previous projects

Soundless, the second track on the EP They Seldom Ask, opens up the conversation about the LoNER, where Louis has a dream of being persecuted for being himself. In a line he said, "Thinkin' of Loner" which is a direct opening to the project. Soundless is a celebration of a hidden identity which is also persecuted by his uncertainty and fear of discrimination and hatred against, materialised in his subconscious mind as Klan members. Soundless is set in a dream, where we all tend to meet with our subconscious mind.
